Circle

FabLab Dynamic has been focusing on social design projects and issues of green energy. The work, "Circle," is an installation featuring a platform filled with plants and approximately 120 soil-based power units. As the plants photosynthesize, the acid they produce generates electricity in the soil units. This power supplies LED lights with the specific wavelengths of light needed for plant growth, creating a self-sustaining, circular system.

The device also includes a moisture-retention design to meet the plants' water needs. The Lab improved the electrode materials, shape, and contact area to boost power generation efficiency. By converting its own energy, the work breaks the traditional power hierarchy and attempts to create a self-growing loop.
