Ripple / Start
The public art project at Dayuan Junior High School in Taoyuan City takes “Pixel Art: Inheriting the Past and Inspiring the Future” as its core concept. Integrating the unique qualities of the exhibition space, it features specially designed and customized PCB panels to ensure both stability and sensitivity during large-scale interactions. This technology allows for precise rendering of pixel details and light effects, resulting in two works that combine aesthetic beauty with interactivity.
The work “Start” is a 13-meter-long co-creation digital wall where participants can engage in pixel art through real-time multi-user drawing and motion sensing. Meanwhile, the 9-meter-long “Ripple” transforms the school emblem and imagery of the old campus into an 8-bit reinterpretation. As people pass by, the display generates ripples that spread outward with rhythmic motion, symbolizing the continuous extension of history’s waves into the future.
